Haq Box Office: Film Collects ₹0.78 Crore On Day 4
The new courtroom drama Haq hit theatres last Friday, on November 7. The film stars Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi in lead roles. It is a serious film based on a sensitive topic. The movie got decent reviews from critics. Audiences also seemed to like it during the weekend.
But now, the first Monday numbers are here. And the news is not very good for the makers.
According to our sources, Haq’s box office collection on Day 4 (Monday) was ₹0.78 crore net. This is a very big drop after a hopeful weekend. The Monday test is the most important test for any movie. It shows if the audience has truly accepted the film.

After this Monday’s collection, the total collection of Haq in India stands at ₹9.69 crore net. The film has just missed the ₹10 crore mark in its first four days.
A Look At The First Weekend Collection
Haq had a slow start at the box office. But it showed very good growth on Saturday and Sunday. This growth made everyone believe that the film will have a strong run.
Here is the day-wise breakup of Haq’s box office collection:
- Day 1 (Friday): ₹1.75 crore
- Day 2 (Saturday): ₹3.35 crore
- Day 3 (Sunday): ₹3.81 crore

The film opened with only ₹1.75 crore. This was a low number. But the positive word-of-mouth helped a lot. On Saturday, the collection almost doubled. This was a jump of over 91%. This is a fantastic sign for any movie.
On Sunday, the film grew again. It collected ₹3.81 crore. This was not a big jump from Saturday. But it was still a positive trend. The film collected a total of ₹8.91 crore in its first weekend. This was a respectable total for a film of this size and genre.
Everyone thought the film would hold well on Monday. But that did not happen.

Haq Big Monday Drop: How Sharp Was The Fall?
The first Monday is the day of truth. And the truth is harsh for Haq. The film faced a massive crash in its collections.
Fall From Sunday: A Worrying 79% Drop!
On Sunday, Haq collected ₹3.81 crore. On Monday, the collection fell to just ₹0.78 crore.
This is a drop of around 79%. This is a very big fall. For a film to be a hit, the Monday drop should be in the 40-50% range. A 60% drop is considered average. But a drop of nearly 80% is a sign of rejection. It shows that the weekend audience was the main audience. The weekday crowd is not coming in big numbers.
This sharp fall means the positive word-of-mouth was not strong enough. It could not pull the regular weekday audience to the theatres.
Fall From Friday: Even Opening Day Was Higher
Another way to see the Monday test is to compare it with Friday. Haq collected ₹1.75 crore on its opening day. The Monday collection of ₹0.78 crore is less than half of its opening day. This is a drop of over 55% from Friday.
This is not a good sign. Usually, for a content-driven film, the Monday collection should be close to the Friday collection. Here, it is much lower. This proves that the film is not holding its ground.
What Does This Mean For Haq?
This Monday crash has put the film in a tough spot. The weekend growth gave hope. But the Monday numbers have washed away that hope. The film’s total is now ₹9.69 crore.
The film’s journey to a “Hit” tag is now very, very difficult. From here, the lifetime collection will be limited. The film will struggle to even reach the ₹15-20 crore mark. For a film with stars like Yami Gautam and Emraan Hashmi, these are low numbers.
Yami Gautam’s last film, Article 370, was a big hit. It had a very strong run at the box office. Haq will not be able to repeat that success.
The Competition Factor
Haq did not have much competition this week. It was the main Hindi release. There were other smaller films like Jatadhara and The Girlfriend. But they were not big threats. The Hollywood film Predator: Badlands was also released. But Haq was aimed at a different audience.
The film had a clear field to perform. But it still could not hold on.
The Big Test Ahead: De De Pyaar De 2
The real trouble for Haq will start this Friday. On November 14, the big movie De De Pyaar De 2 is releasing. This is a sequel to a very successful film. It stars Ajay Devgn.
De De Pyaar De 2 will take away most of the screens from Haq. The audience will also prefer the new big-star comedy. Haq has only three more days (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday) to earn whatever he can. After Friday, its box office run will be almost over.
What’s Next? All Eyes On Tuesday
After a crash on Monday, the Tuesday collection is very important.
The film needs to stay stable now. If Haq can collect around ₹0.65-0.75 crore on Tuesday, it would be a decent hold. It would mean the film has found its bottom level.
But if the film drops again on Tuesday, it is a disaster. If the collection falls below ₹0.50 crore, then the film will be out of most theatres by Thursday.
The fate of Haq is now sealed. It will not be a box office hit. The only question is, how much can it collect before De De Pyaar De 2 arrives? The Monday drop has been too big to ignore.
