The Taj Story Road Ahead: Next Day and Second Weekend
The future of ‘The Taj Story’ depends entirely on how it performs from Day 7 onwards.
The Final Week One Total
The film will likely finish its first week (7 days) with a total net collection between ₹11 to ₹11.5 Crore. This is a good total, mostly helped by the strong jump on Saturday and Sunday.
The final total will show that the film has done respectable business for a movie with a medium budget.
The Critical Second Friday
The next big test for the film will be the collection on Day 8 (the second Friday).
- Collections usually drop heavily on the second Friday. A drop of around 50% from the first Friday is normal.
- The first Friday was ₹1 Crore. So, the film must collect ₹50-70 Lakhs on its second Friday to be considered a successful hold.
- If the film collects less than ₹50 Lakhs, it will show a sharp end to its run. This means it will quickly lose screens to new films.
Lifetime Collection Prediction
Trade experts believe that if the film holds well in its second weekend, its final lifetime collection could go up to ₹15 Crore or even ₹20 Crore net.
To reach the higher mark, the movie needs to keep attracting audiences even after the first week is over. This is a tough challenge as new, bigger films may be released this Friday.
