Coolie, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, had a massive opening. On its first day, it collected a record-breaking ₹65 crore. The film maintained strong momentum through its first four-day weekend, collecting ₹54.75 crore on day two and a total of around ₹194.5 crore in its first four days.

However, the weekdays saw a drop in collections. The film’s earnings fell to ₹12 crore on day five and continued to decline. Despite this, the film has managed to hold its ground and is performing well against its competition, Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2, which was released on the same day.

Coolie Collection worldwide

The worldwide collection for Coolie is also very good. Reports suggest the film has already crossed the ₹400 crore mark globally within its first extended week.

Coolie large part collection comes from overseas markets, where the film has been a big hit, earning around ₹168.5 crore. This strong performance overseas has helped the movie stay ahead in the box office race.

The film has a stellar cast, including Nagarjuna, Upendra, Soubin Shahir, Sathyaraj, and Shruti Haasan, along with Rajinikanth. Produced by Kalanithi Maran’s Sun Pictures, Coolie tells the story of a former union leader who gets involved in a gold smuggling case.

Trade experts believe the film might still reach the ₹250 crore mark in India and the ₹500 crore mark worldwide by the end of its theatrical run. While it might not reach the record-breaking numbers of Rajinikanth’s previous films like Jailer or 2.0, Coolie has once again shown the massive star power of the actor, proving his ability to pull audiences to the theatres even after so many years.
