The big screen battle between ‘War 2’ and ‘Coolie’ continued on Tuesday, August 27, 2025. Both films saw a drop in their collections. But superstar Rajinikanth’s ‘Coolie’ kept its lead over the Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR starrer ‘War 2’.

Coolie’s Collections Dip, but It Still Leads

On its 14th day, ‘Coolie’ earned around Rs 5.55 crore. This is a big drop from its first week’s earnings. The film’s total collection now stands at Rs 269.8 crore. ‘Coolie’ had a huge start. It was released on August 14, and its first-week collection was very strong. The weekday numbers are now much lower.

The occupancy in theatres also shows this slowdown. The Tamil version had an occupancy of about 15%. The Hindi and Telugu versions also had similar numbers. Despite this, ‘Coolie’ is still ahead in the box office race.

‘War 2’ Also Sees a Drop

‘War 2’ is also facing a similar situation. The film earned around Rs 2.55 crore on its 14th day. This is slightly less than ‘Coolie’s earnings for the same day. ‘War 2’s total collection is now at Rs 229.8 crore.

The film’s performance in its second week has been a bit slow. Its first week was very good, with a total of around Rs 175.75 crore. The second week’s numbers have dropped a lot. The Hindi version of the film is still doing the best. But the Telugu and Tamil versions are not earning as much as the makers had hoped.

‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ Continues to Surprise

The animated film ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ is a silent winner. The film is in its fifth week, but it is still collecting money. On Wednesday, its 33rd day, the film collected around Rs 2.15 crore. The total collection for ‘Mahavatar Narsimha’ is now at Rs 237 crore.

The film’s journey is very special. It had a small start, but strong word-of-mouth helped it a lot. It has become one of the biggest animated films in Indian cinema. It has even crossed the Rs 300 crore mark in worldwide collections.
