Mirai Strong Start and Weekend Surge
“Mirai” had a very good opening on its release date, September 12, 2025. The film opened with a strong ₹13 crore on its first day. This was a very good start, and it was a sign of the hype around the film.
The first weekend was even better. The film saw a huge jump in collections on Saturday and Sunday, collecting ₹15 crore and ₹16.6 crore respectively. This was a clear indication that the film was getting good reviews and positive word of mouth. The first weekend total of around ₹44.6 crore was a big success.
Mirai Weekdays Show Resilience
After a fantastic first weekend, the film’s collections saw a drop on the weekdays, which is very common. However, the film held its ground very well.
On its first Monday, the film earned around ₹6.4 crore. The collections went down a bit on Tuesday and Wednesday, but they were still very strong. This steady performance on weekdays showed that the film was not just a weekend hit. It had a strong audience base that was coming to watch the film on all days. The film’s first week total was more than ₹65 crore.

The Second Weekend: An Even Bigger Boost
The second weekend has been even more impressive for “Mirai.” On its second Friday, the film earned a decent ₹3.4 crore. The collections on Saturday and Sunday have been exceptional. The film collected an estimated ₹5.6 crore on its 10th day, Sunday, which is a big jump from its second Friday. This strong second weekend has pushed the film’s total collection to a massive ₹78.6 crore.
The film is now well on its way to crossing the ₹100 crore mark.
“Mirai” vs “HanuMan”: A Comparison
The success of “Mirai” is being widely compared to Teja Sajja’s previous hit, “HanuMan.” Both films are superhero films with a mythological connection. “HanuMan” was a huge blockbuster, earning over ₹200 crore at the box office.
“HanuMan” had a good start, but it was the positive word of mouth that helped it become a blockbuster. The film collected ₹8.05 crore on its first Friday, and ₹12.45 crore on its first Saturday. Its first Sunday collection was around ₹16 crore.
“Mirai,” on the other hand, had a bigger opening and a better first weekend. “Mirai” has collected more than “HanuMan” in its first three days. “HanuMan’s” 10-day collection was ₹114.55 crore, which is higher than “Mirai’s” ₹78.6 crore.
However, it is important to note that “HanuMan” had a special Thursday release, so its first weekend was a four-day weekend, while “Mirai” had a regular three-day weekend. So, when comparing the first 10 days, “HanuMan” had an advantage.
Despite the numbers, the success of both films shows that the audience is ready to embrace Indian superhero films with strong mythological roots. The success of “Mirai” is not a one-off event. It is a sign of a new trend in Indian cinema.

Why “Mirai” is a Big Hit
There are a few reasons why “Mirai” is doing so well. First, the film has a very good story. It is a fantasy action-adventure film that combines ancient Indian mythology with a modern superhero story. People are loving this new style of filmmaking.
Second, the film’s visuals and special effects are fantastic. The film has been praised for its high-quality VFX, which makes it a visual treat to watch on the big screen.
Third, the film’s word of mouth is very strong. People who have watched the film are telling their friends and family to see it. This has created a lot of buzz. The film’s producers have also done a good job of promoting the film.
The success of “Mirai” is a big win for the Telugu film industry and for actor Teja Sajja. He is now a proven box office star. The film is expected to continue its strong run in the coming days.
