Haq Monday Box Office Drop: How Sharp Was the Fall from Sunday?
For Haq, the first Monday (Day 4) was tough. The film, which is based on the famous Shah Bano case, could not keep the high numbers on Sunday.
Mumbai, November 11, 2025: Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam’s new movie, Haq, has faced its first big test in cinemas. The film, a serious courtroom drama, had a strong and hopeful weekend. But the first Monday collection brought the usual, sharp slowdown.
The question now is: How much did Haq fall from its Sunday peak? And what does this big drop mean for the movie’s future?
The Monday Jolt: A Big Plunge in Numbers
Monday is known as the most important day for any movie. It shows if the audience truly loves the film or if they just watched it over the weekend because of free time.
For Haq, the first Monday (Day 4) was tough. The film, which is based on the famous Shah Bano case, could not keep the high numbers on Sunday.
On Sunday (Day 3), Haq had its best day. It collected a high figure of around โน3.81 crore (Net India Collection). This was a good number that showed the positive word-of-mouth was working.
However, the Monday collections saw a huge dip. The trade report suggests that Haq collected in the range of โน1.04 crore on Monday.
Let us look at the drop percentage. If we take Sundayโs collection as โน3.80 crore and Mondayโs collection as โน1.00 crore, the movie saw a drop of nearly 73.68%.
If the number is closer to โน0.85 crore, the drop is even higher, close to 77%.
This is a very, very sharp fall. A drop of 50% to 60% from Sunday is seen as normal and a ‘good hold’ for a working day. A drop of over 70% is a sign that the film is losing its audience fast. It shows that people who wanted to watch the film rushed to the theatres over the weekend.

The Weekend Story: Hope and Huge Growth
The big Monday drop is surprising because the first weekend of Haq was very promising. The movie showed exceptional growth from Friday to Saturday. This growth had made many experts hopeful.
- Day 1 (Friday, November 7): The movie had a slow opening. It collected around โน1.75 crore. This was a modest start for a film starring popular faces like Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam.
- Day 2 (Saturday): The audience loved the film, and the positive reviews spread fast. Haq saw a massive jump of over 91%! The collection soared to about โน3.35 crore. This huge jump was the biggest highlight of the film’s run so far. It proved that the story and performances were connecting with the people.
- Day 3 (Sunday): The collections continued to climb. Haq earned around โน3.81 crore.
The first weekend total for Haq stood at a healthy โน8.91 crore (Net India Collection). Crossing the โน8 crore mark in three days was a good achievement, especially since the movie deals with a serious social topic. The film was just shy of the โน10 crore mark, and everyone thought it would easily cross it on Monday.
Haq Total Collection After Day 4
With the Monday collections added, the total money collected by Haq in India stands at around โน9.94 crore. The film just missed the โน10 crore milestone in four days. It will cross the โน10 crore mark early on Tuesday.
The Challenges: Why the Drop Was So Severe
Several factors are at play for this big drop on Day 4:
- The Nature of the Film: Haq is a serious courtroom drama. Films that are more serious often see a better weekend because people plan to watch them. But they find it hard to attract a large audience on weekdays compared to light-hearted or action movies.
- Lack of Star Power in Mass Belts: Emraan Hashmi and Yami Gautam are great actors, but they rely more on good content and positive word-of-mouth. The initial numbers suggest the film did well mainly in big cities (metros) where reviews and content matter most. The smaller cities (mass centres) did not show the same strong hold on Monday.
- High Budget Pressure: The movie is made on an estimated budget of โน40 crore. To be called a “hit” or even “average,” the film needs to earn a good amount from its theatrical release. A huge drop on Monday puts serious pressure on the movie’s lifetime earnings. It is now tough for Haq to get its investment back from just the cinema run.
- The Tuesday Relief: The only good news is that the makers planned well for the weekdays. Many multiplex chains are offering discounted ticket prices for Tuesday (Day 5). This means ticket prices will be low, likely between โน99 to โน150. This move should help the movie see a rise in collections again on Tuesday. This rise is desperately needed to keep the film in the race.
The Road Ahead: Can Haq Recover?
The big Monday drop means the journey ahead for Haq will be difficult. The film needs to maintain at least the โน1 crore collection mark for the next three days (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday).
- Day 5 (Tuesday): The discounted ticket prices must bring a large crowd. If the collection is lower than โน1.50 crore on Tuesday, it will be a major disappointment.
- Future Competition: The film will face new competition next week. The new releases might take away many of its screens.
Haq has great performances and a powerful story. It is a movie that deserves to be watched. But its box office performance shows that good word-of-mouth is not enough to survive the Monday test after a sharp weekend jump. The next few days will tell if Haq can fight its way to a respectable final total.
What do you think? Will the discounted Tuesday help Haq recover from the big Monday drop? Let us know your thoughts in the comments!
