Bhooth Bangla Trailer Release Date and April 17 Postponement News
Bhooth Bangla Update: Trailer Delayed to April as Akshay Kumar’s Horror-Comedy Avoids Dhurandhar 2 Box Office Clash
The April 10 release date is looming, but where is the footage? Discover why the industry thinks Akshay Kumar is dodging a 1300 crore bullet.
Tuesday, March 31, 2026. Mumbai is feeling the heat, and I am not just talking about the weather.
We are exactly ten days away from April 10, yet the Bhooth Bangla trailer is nowhere to be found. It is like the marketing team decided to play hide-and-seek with the entire nation.
Fans are refreshing YouTube every five minutes. Nothing but silence.
This is not how a big-budget Akshay Kumar and Priyadarshan reunion is supposed to go. Usually, we would be seeing posters on every bus and hearing the songs on every reel by now.
Instead, we have a missing trailer and a mountain of rumours. The industry is whispering that the makers are terrified of the Dhurandhar 2 hurricane currently destroying the box office.
Outlook India recently reported that the trailer launch, which was locked for March 30, was suddenly cancelled at the last minute. This has sent the trade into a tailspin of speculation.
While the makers have not officially moved the date from April 10 on their social handles, the lack of a trailer tells a different story. Nobody releases a movie this big without at least two weeks of heavy promotion.
The 1300 Crore Shadow
The real villain in this horror-comedy story is not a ghost. It is Ranveer Singh.
Dhurandhar 2 has been a monster. It has already raked in over 1,392 crore worldwide in just 13 days of its run. That is insane.
Every theatre owner wants to keep Dhurandhar 2 on their screens. If Bhooth Bangla arrives on April 10, it will have to fight for every single seat.
Is it fear or just smart business? Look at the numbers. Dhurandhar 2 is still pulling in massive crowds even on its second Tuesday. Trying to launch a new film in the middle of this madness is like trying to light a match in a thunderstorm. Most trade experts believe the smart move is to wait. But waiting costs money and kills momentum.

The mood in the industry is one of total confusion. Why say “no postponement” and then go silent on the most important promotional tool?
If the film is ready, show it to us. If it is not, tell us the new date. This “silent marketing” strategy is either a stroke of genius or a sign of absolute panic behind the scenes.
Mythology Over Psychology
While the trailer remains hidden, Jisshu Sengupta has been dropping some interesting breadcrumbs.
In a recent chat with Zoom TV, he clarified that this is not Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3. It is something much deeper. He mentioned that the film is rooted in Indian mythology and the Vedas. It deals with black magic and superstitions in a town called Mangalpur.
According to the reports from Variety India, the film is now likely taking the April 17 slot. This was the date previously held by Salman Khan’s Maatrubhumi.
Since Salman’s film is pushed back, the window is wide open. This gives Akshay’s horror-comedy some “breathing space” away from the Ranveer Singh storm.
The film is also reportedly quite long. We are looking at a runtime of 170 minutes. That is nearly three hours of horror and laughter. With a cast including Tabu, Paresh Rawal, and Rajpal Yadav, the expectations are sky-high. But without a trailer, those expectations are starting to turn into frustration for the fans who have waited 15 years for this duo to return.
The first week of April is now the new deadline. If we do not see the Bhooth Bangla trailer by the weekend, we can kiss that April 10 release date goodbye.
The makers need to realise that even the biggest stars cannot sell a “ghost” of a movie. We need to see the “Bangla” before we buy the ticket.
I think the makers are playing a very dangerous game of chicken with the audience.
They want to hold onto April 10 to keep the “Eid-week” vibes, but the Dhurandhar 2 numbers are simply too scary to ignore.
Akshay Kumar needs a massive hit right now.
Dropping this film in a crowded market without a solid trailer launch would be box office suicide.
My bet?
They will announce the April 17 shift the second the trailer drops. Watch this space!
