Dashavatar Box Office Collection
> Dashavatar >>
“Dashavatar” is a Marathi thriller. It also had a good opening day, collecting Rs 0.58 crore. The film saw a big jump on Saturday, earning Rs 1.39 crore. On Sunday, it jumped even more, earning Rs 2.72 crore. The total weekend collection of Rs 4.69 crore was a great result for a Marathi film.
Comparing the box office journey
Even though “Kishkindhapuri” has a higher total collection, “Dashavatar” has shown better growth. “Dashavatar’s” collection on Sunday was almost five times its opening day collection. This shows that the movie has very good “word-of-mouth” and people are telling their friends to go and watch it. This kind of growth is rare, and it is a very good sign for the film’s success.
“Kishkindhapuri” also showed growth, but not as much as “Dashavatar.” Its Sunday collection was not even double its opening day collection. The drop on Monday for both films is expected. Weekdays are always slower than weekends. But “Kishkindhapuri” has held on a little better than “Dashavatar” on day four.
How they compare to similar movies
Both “Dashavatar” and “Kishkindhapuri” have done well in their own film industries. “Dashavatar’s” weekend collection of Rs 4.69 crore is the biggest opening weekend for a Marathi film in 2025.
This is a huge achievement. It has performed much better than other recent Marathi films like “Bin Lagnachi Goshta” and “Aarpar,” which were released on the same day.
“Kishkindhapuri” faced a very tough competition from a big Telugu film, “Mirai.” “Mirai” had a huge opening of Rs 13 crore and a total of over Rs 49 crore in four days. In this big fight, “Kishkindhapuri” has done well to collect a respectable Rs 9.2 crore.
“Kishkindhapuri” is also doing better than another recent film, the Hindi movie “The Bengal Files.” “The Bengal Files” has a total collection of less than Rs 15 crore in 11 days.
In comparison, “Kishkindhapuri” has earned more than half of that in just four days.
The road ahead
The coming days will be very important for both films. The collections on the weekdays will decide their final box office verdict. “Dashavatar” is already being called a hit because of its small budget. It has already made a lot of profit. “Kishkindhapuri” has a bigger budget, so it needs to keep earning well to be a hit.
The success of these two films shows that good content can bring an audience to the theaters, even if the film does not have a big star. The genre of horror and thriller is doing well in both Telugu and Marathi cinema.
The box office battle between “Dashavatar” and “Kishkindhapuri” has been interesting to watch. Both films are in a good position to have a long run.
