Rishab Shetty’s Kantara Record-Breaking Opening
Kantara: A Legend Chapter-1 was released on October 2, 2025. This date coincided with the Dussehra and Gandhi Jayanti holidays.
The film had a thunderous start on Day 1. It opened with a massive Rs 61.85 Crore (net India collection) across all languages. This was a record-breaking opening for the Kannada film industry.
On Day 2 (Friday), the collection saw a drop. This was expected as Friday was a regular working day. However, the film still maintained a very strong hold. It collected Rs 46 Crore.
Kantara Chapter 1 Huge Weekend Jump
The jump on Saturday (Day 3) is a huge deal. Earning Rs 55.5 Crore on Day 3 is excellent. It shows the film’s positive word-of-mouth is working wonders. More people are coming to the theatres over the weekend. The film has attracted viewers from all language markets.
