The film’s journey at the box office has been a roller coaster ride. It had a fantastic opening on its first Friday, September 5, 2025, with a collection of Rs 13.65 crore. The first weekend was also strong, with the film earning Rs 12.10 crore on Saturday and Rs 11.40 crore on Sunday. The three-day total was Rs 37.15 crore, which was a great start.

However, the real test came on weekdays. The collections dropped heavily from the first Monday itself. On its first Monday, the film earned only Rs 4.15 crore, and the numbers kept falling each day. By the end of its first week, the film had a total of Rs 49 crore.
The second weekend was also not very strong. The film earned around Rs 1.8 crore on its second Friday and Rs 1.35 crore on its second Saturday. The Sunday collection was slightly better at Rs 2.85 crore. But the sharp drop on the second Monday to Rs 0.65 crore shows that the film is losing its audience fast.
Comparing “Madharasi” with “Baaghi 4”
“Madharasi” and Tiger Shroff’s “Baaghi 4” were released on the same day. Both are big action movies. A lot of people were watching to see which movie would do better.
In the first weekend, “Madharasi” was the clear winner. It collected Rs 37.15 crore, while “Baaghi 4” collected around Rs 31 crore. “Madharasi” was ahead of “Baaghi 4” in the first week also. “Madharasi” earned Rs 49 crore in its first week, and “Baaghi 4” earned Rs 44.55 crore.
But now, in the second week, “Baaghi 4” is doing better. On its 11th day, “Baaghi 4” earned Rs 0.75 crore, while “Madharasi” earned only Rs 0.65 crore. This shows that “Baaghi 4” is holding on a little better than “Madharasi” in its second week.
The total collection of “Baaghi 4” is now around Rs 50.40 crore, while “Madharasi” is around Rs 57 crore. So, “Madharasi” is still ahead of “Baaghi 4” in total numbers, but the gap is getting smaller.
Reasons for the drop
“Madharasi” is a big-budget film. The budget is reported to be around Rs 180 crore. With a total collection of just over Rs 57 crore, the film is a huge commercial failure. The movie has received mixed reviews. Some people liked the action and Sivakarthikeyan’s performance, but many others said the story was weak and the second half was slow.
The movie’s performance is also not good in other parts of India. It has done well in Tamil Nadu, but in Telugu and Hindi markets, the collections are very low. This is also a reason for the low total numbers.
