Mass Jathara Explained: Ending, Twists & Hidden Details
Mass Maharaja’s Big Show: A Decent Start at the Ticket Windows
Ravi Tejaโs latest film, Mass Jathara, finally hit the screens. The movie had its theatrical release on Saturday, November 1st, 2025, with premieres happening a day before. Fans were eagerly waiting for this action-comedy entertainer.
The movie had a decent opening at the box office. On Day 1, which includes the premiere shows, Mass Jathara earned an estimated โน6.65 crore net across India. This is a good number for the Mass Maharaja in the post-COVID time. It is his fourth biggest opening in this period. This collection is better than his last few films like Tiger Nageswara Rao and Mr. Bachchan.
However, the word-of-mouth has been mixed. This means the movieโs collections dropped over the weekend.
On Sunday, Day 2, the film added around โน3.00 crore, taking the total India net collection to approximately โน9.65 crore in two days. The filmโs estimated budget is around โน40 crore. This means the movie needs to perform very strongly in the coming days to become a profitable venture for the producers.
Twists and Core Plot: The Railway Copโs Limit
Mass Jathara is a typical mass entertainer. The story is about Lakshman Bheri (Ravi Teja), an honest and aggressive Railway Police Officer. He gets transferred to a remote area called Adavivaram in the Manyam region. This place is a hotbed for ganja (marijuana) cultivation and smuggling.
The main villain is Shivudu (Naveen Chandra), the local ganja kingpin.
The Big Conflict
- The Heroโs Limitation: Lakshman Bheri is a Railway Cop. His power is limited only to the railway station premises. He cannot directly operate outside this area. This is a crucial plot point.
- The System’s Flaw: The local police and other officials in Adavivaram are working hand-in-hand with the drug smugglers. This makes Lakshman’s job very difficult. He must find a way to trap the villains inside his area, the railway station, to take action.
This unique restriction on the hero was one of the few interesting points in a mostly familiar story.

The Hidden Twist of Sreeleelaโs Character
The film also stars the beautiful Sreeleela as Tulasi. She is shown as a school teacher who travels by the same train as the hero. Their chemistry is a major part of the first half.
- The Double Role: There is a twist to her character. Tulasi is initially seen as the hero’s love interest. But it is later revealed that she has another side.
- The Revelation: Tulasi is connected to the ganja smuggling conflict. She is actually selling ganja. The film gives a backstory to explain why she is forced to do this. However, some audience members felt this twist was not convincing and her role was mostly limited to the romantic and song sequences.
The Climax and Final Showdown
The ending of Mass Jathara is a full-on “mass” spectacle, just like the title promises.
- Luring the Villain: The hero, Lakshman Bheri, successfully lures the main villain Shivudu and his gang to the railway station area. Since the action is now happening inside his jurisdiction, he can finally unleash his full force.
- The Action: The climax features high-energy, stylish action sequences. Ravi Teja’s trademark energy shines in these final moments. Bodies fly and the fight is very intense.
- The End: Lakshman successfully defeats Shivudu and his entire network, putting an end to the drug trade in Adavivaram. The ending is a formality, with the righteous cop emerging victorious after a big showdown.
A small point of note: Rajendra Prasadโs character, the hero’s grandfather, plays a part in the final sequences, bringing some emotional angle, though some viewers found it a bit forced.
What This Means for the Movie
- Ravi Tejaโs Energy: The biggest positive for the movie is Ravi Tejaโs electric performance and energy. His fans got to see their “Mass Maharaja” in full form.
- Routine Story: The filmโs story is very routine and follows the old formula of a mass film (fight-song-fight). The director focused mostly on hero-elevation moments.
- The Journey Ahead: The film’s drop in collections on Sunday means the mixed talk is hurting its run. Mass Jathara needs to show exceptional collections in the weekdays to recover its budget. Its fate now depends on how well it holds up from Monday onwards, or it may end up as another average performer for the star.
