Mass Jathara Review: Our Honest Take! Hit or Miss?
Mass Jathara Hit: Ravi Teja’s Energy, Big Action Scenes and Naveen Chandra.
Hyderabad, November 1, 2025: The wait is over! Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s new film, Mass Jathara, has hit theaters today. There was a lot of buzz for this movie. Fans were excited to see Ravi Teja in his “vintage” mass style. The film promised a big “jathara” (a celebration or festival) of action and energy.
But the big question is: Does the movie deliver? Is it a true celebration for movie lovers? Or is it a loud and empty festival? We watched the movie, and here is our honest take. Is it a Hit or a Miss? Let’s find out.
Mass Jathara Review

The “Hits”: What We Liked in Mass Jathara
🤩 There are some good things in Mass Jathara. The biggest plus point is, without a doubt, Ravi Teja.
- Ravi Teja’s Energy: If you are a die-hard Ravi Teja fan, you will get what you came for. His energy is amazing. He fills the screen with his presence. He delivers punch dialogues and fights with full power. Many fans are calling this his “vintage” performance, like his old hit movies.
- Big Action Scenes: The movie has many action scenes. They are big, loud, and made for the “mass” audience. The interval fight and some other action blocks are designed well. They give a high feeling.
- Good Visuals: The movie looks good. The camera work (cinematography) by Vidhu Ayyanna is very stylish and rich. He has made the movie look grand.
- Background Music (BGM): The background score by Bheems Ceciroleo is powerful in many scenes. It lifts the action scenes and Ravi Teja’s entry. It adds to the “mass” feel.
- Naveen Chandra: The villain, played by Naveen Chandra, also gives a strong performance. He looks menacing and is a good match for the hero.
The “Misses”: What We Did Not Like in Mass Jathara
😩 Sadly, the movie has many problems. The good parts are pulled down by some very big “misses.”
- Old, Old Story: The biggest problem is the story. It is the same old story we have seen 100 times. An honest and powerful cop comes to a new town. He fights a very bad local villain who runs a smuggling business. There is nothing new or fresh here. The story is very predictable. You know what will happen next.
- Weak Heroine Role: The heroine, Sreeleela, is a very good dancer. But her character is written very badly. She has nothing important to do. Her role feels like a waste. Her love story with Ravi Teja is not convincing and just slows the movie down.
- Irritating Comedy: The movie tries very hard to be funny. There is a separate comedy track with actor Rajendra Prasad. But most of the jokes are not funny. They feel old and sometimes irritating. This breaks the flow of the serious story.
- Weak Direction: The director, Bhanu Bhogavarapu, is new. While he handled some big scenes well, the overall movie feels weak. The film jumps suddenly from an action scene to a comedy scene, then to a song. This “uneven tone” makes it hard to enjoy the movie. The writing and screenplay should have been much better.
- Loud Music (Sometimes): While the BGM is good in some places, it is too loud in others. The songs are also not very memorable.
Mass Jathara Story and Final Verdict
The story of Mass Jathara is simple. Lakshman Bheri (Ravi Teja) is a Railway Police Officer. He is transferred to a village called Adavivaram. This village is controlled by a dangerous smuggler, Sivudu (Naveen Chandra), who deals in ganja. How Lakshman stops Sivudu and his big network is the rest of the film.
So,
Mass Jathara Hit or a Miss?
Our answer is: It is a Hit for die-hard Ravi Teja fans, but a Miss for the general audience.
If you love Ravi Teja and just want to see him fight, dance, and deliver punchlines, you might enjoy it. But if you are looking for a new story, good writing, and a fresh film, you will be disappointed. It is a routine mass movie that is full of energy but has no new ideas.
Our Rating: 2.8 / 5
