MUMBAI, Saturday, August 23, 2025: The action-packed film War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR, is holding its ground at the box office. The movie, which was released on August 14, has just completed its second weekend. On its tenth day, Saturday, August 23, the film’s total collection in India has crossed the ₹215 crore mark.

The film, which is part of the YRF Spy Universe, is showing an upward trend in collections during its second weekend, which is a good sign after a drop during the weekdays.
The film started with a strong opening, earning ₹52 crore on its first day. It saw a good jump on its second day, collecting ₹57.35 crore. However, after the first four-day extended weekend, the collections saw a significant drop. The movie’s earnings dipped to single-digit numbers during the week.

The clash with Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie, which was released on the same day, has also affected the film’s performance.

While Coolie has done exceptionally well, especially in the South Indian markets, War 2 has managed to do good business in the Hindi belt. The performance of the film in the Telugu-speaking states has been lower than expected.
The film has also earned well in the overseas market. Its worldwide collection has already crossed the ₹320 crore mark. However, its huge production budget of a reported ₹400 crore means the film still has a long way to go to be called a profitable venture.
Directed by Ayan Mukerji, the film also features Kiara Advani. Despite the lukewarm reviews and mixed word-of-mouth, the star power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR has attracted a lot of audience. Industry experts are hopeful that the film will continue to perform well over the second weekend and might even reach the ₹240 crore mark in India.
