Mumbai: The romantic comedy “Param Sundari,” starring Sidharth Malhotra and Janhvi Kapoor, is facing a tough time at the box office.

On its 13th day in theatres, the film collected a very low amount of ₹0.75 crore. This is a significant drop and shows the film is struggling to attract audiences.

The total collection of “Param Sundari” after 13 days is now around ₹48.4 crore. This is not far from the ₹50 crore mark that many in the trade were expecting it to cross easily.

The film’s journey at the box office has been like a roller coaster. It had a strong first weekend. On Day 1, it made ₹7.25 crore. The collections grew on Saturday to ₹9.25 crore and reached a high of ₹10.25 crore on Sunday. This good start gave hope to the makers and the fans.

However, the real test began on the weekdays when collections saw a big drop on its first Monday, coming down to ₹3.25 crore. The numbers continued to fall in the following days, showing that the audience’s interest was fading.

The second week has been even more challenging for the film. The collection on the second Friday was just ₹1.75 crore. While it saw a small increase over the weekend, with ₹2 crore on Saturday and ₹2.5 crore on Sunday, the collections have again gone down on weekdays.

This is a common trend for many movies, but for “Param Sundari,” the drop has been very sharp.

Both these films have taken away a large part of the audience. “Baaghi 4,” in particular, is doing very well and has already crossed the ₹40 crore mark.

Trade experts say that “Param Sundari” is now in a difficult spot. Its total collection is still below its reported budget of ₹50 crore. This means the film has not yet recovered its cost. For a movie to be a ‘hit,’ it needs to earn twice its budget. “Param Sundari” is far from that number.
