Mirai Box Office Day 5: Teja Sajja’s Fantasy Epic Slows Down, But Crosses ₹55 Crore Mark
Mirai crosses ₹55 crore in 5 days despite weekday drop. Check detailed box office report and comparison with Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra
September 16, 2025 – Teja Sajja’s latest film, Mirai, has finished its first five days in cinemas. The movie had a very strong opening weekend. But its collections have now slowed down a bit. This is a common trend for many films after the weekend rush ends.
Let’s look at how Mirai has performed so far and compare it with the recent Malayalam hit, Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra.
Mirai Box Office – A Strong Start, But a Dip on Weekdays
Mirai was released on Friday, September 12. It is a fantasy action film starring Teja Sajja and Manchu Manoj. The movie got a good start at the box office.
- On its first day, it collected an impressive ₹13 crore. The collections went up even more over the weekend.
On Saturday, it earned ₹15 crore. Sunday was the best day for the film, with collections reaching ₹16.6 crore. This great performance over the first three days pushed the film’s total collection to over ₹44 crore. This was a fantastic start for a film with a reported budget of ₹60 crore.
However, the real test for any film is the weekdays. As people go back to work and school, the numbers usually drop. Mirai also saw this dip.
- On Monday, its collection went down to around ₹6.4 crore.

The drop was even more on Tuesday, the fifth day. Early industry reports suggest that the film earned about ₹5.55 crore on Day 5. This brings its total five-day collection to approximately ₹56.55 crore. While the drop is big, the film has still crossed the ₹55 crore mark. This is a good sign.

How Does It Compare with ‘Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra’?
Now, let’s compare Mirai’s five-day run with another recent blockbuster, Lokah: Chapter 1 – Chandra. This film is a Malayalam superhero movie. It came out on August 28, 2025. Like Mirai, Lokah also had a very good weekend. But there are some key differences.

Lokah started with a smaller number. On its first day, it made ₹2.7 crore. But the film had a very strong “word of mouth.” This means that people who watched the movie loved it and told others to go and watch it. Because of this, its collections grew very fast.
On its first weekend, Lokah collected ₹4 crore on Day 2, ₹7.6 crore on Day 3, and a huge ₹10.1 crore on Day 4 (Sunday). By its fifth day, Lokah had collected around ₹6.65 crore. This brought its five-day total to a strong ₹31.5 crore.
Comparing the Numbers
When we compare the numbers, Mirai has a much higher total after five days. Mirai has made ₹53.1 crore. Lokah had made ₹31.5 crore in its first five days. So, in terms of sheer collection, Mirai is a clear winner in the five-day race.
However, there are other things to consider. Lokah was made on a smaller budget of about ₹30 crore. The film’s collections were a massive success in relation to its cost. Lokah also had a different collection pattern. It started small and grew big because of public support. Mirai started very big and is now seeing a drop.
What Does the Future Hold?
For Mirai, the coming days are very important. The film needs to maintain a decent collection on weekdays to be a big success. The second weekend will decide if it can cross the ₹100 crore mark.
For Lokah, the story is already a huge hit. It has become one of the biggest Malayalam films ever. The film has already crossed the ₹120 crore mark in its run.
In the end, both films show that good content can bring audiences to the theatre. Mirai had a good start, and now it must show its staying power. Lokah is a great example of a film that won hearts and became a huge box office success.
