Coolie Collection So Far
“Coolie” was released on August 14 to celebrate Rajinikanth’s 50 years in the film industry. The movie had a great start. It made a record-breaking Rs 65 crore on its first day. The extended Independence Day weekend helped the movie a lot. It crossed the Rs 200 crore mark in its first week itself.
After the big opening, the collections did slow down a bit during the weekdays. But the second weekend brought a good boost for the film. “Coolie” collected over Rs 10 crore on its second Saturday and Sunday. This proved that the audience is still very interested in the film.

The film faced a big box office clash with Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s “War 2.” Both films came out on the same day. However, “Coolie” has been leading the race. Even on Day 14, “Coolie” earned more than “War 2.” This shows the strong star power of Rajinikanth.
Now, all eyes are on the third weekend. If “Coolie” continues its steady run, it could soon cross the Rs 270 crore mark and maybe even aim for the Rs 300 crore club in India. The film has already become one of the highest-grossing Tamil films of all time. This proves that Rajinikanth is still the true “Superstar” of Indian cinema.
