The box office race is getting tougher as two big films, Rajinikanth’s Coolie and Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2, have now completed 22 days in theaters. Both movies are in their fourth week.
Their collections have slowed down, showing a significant drop from their initial days. The films are now trying to add to their total numbers.
Rajinikanth’s Coolie Box Office Collection – 4 September 2025
Coolie, made on a huge budget of ₹350 crores, has had a good run so far.
On its 22nd day, the film earned ₹1.25 crore in India. There were no significant overseas collections reported for the day.
The movie’s total net collection in India is now ₹283.85 crores.
Its gross collection is ₹336.2 crores.
Coolie has done exceptionally well in the international market, collecting a massive ₹176.8 crores from overseas. This brings its worldwide total to a grand ₹513 crores in 22 days.

This is a big achievement for the film. However, since the film was made on a big budget, it needs to continue performing to be called a profitable venture. The film is now a success, but the makers would want it to reach a higher total to get a clear “hit” verdict.
Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2 Box Office Collection – 4 September 2025
War 2 had an even bigger budget, costing a whopping ₹400 crores to make. The film has also completed 22 days in theaters.
On its 22nd day, the film’s collections dropped to a very low ₹0.4 crores in India. There were no overseas collections for the day.
After 22 days, the total collection for War 2 is ₹236.25 crores net in India.
The gross collection stands at ₹282.25 crores.
From overseas markets, the film has collected ₹77 crores. The total worldwide collection of War 2 is ₹359.25 crores.
The numbers show that War 2 has not been able to recover its budget yet. The collections have dropped sharply, especially on weekdays.
The film is now facing a big challenge. It will be very difficult for it to make a significant profit from here. The film is likely to be a financial loss for the producers.
Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR’s War 2 Vs Rajinikanth’s Coolie Worldwide Collection – A Look at the Overall Picture
While both films started with high hopes, their journeys have been different.
Coolie has performed well, especially in the overseas market, which helped its worldwide collection cross the ₹500 crore mark. Its huge budget means it needs to keep going.
War 2, on the other hand, is struggling. Despite having big stars and a big budget, it could not perform well enough to cover its costs. The film’s low collections in the fourth week are a cause for concern.
Both films are now in their final run in theaters. New movies are being released, which will take away screen space. It will be interesting to see how much more they can add to their final box office totals.
