Mumbai, 15 October 2025 — The latest box office figures confirm that the drama film, Idli Kadai, has maintained its slow pace.
Dhanush’s Film Idli Kadai Box Office Collection Day 15
According to industry reports on Day 15, the movie Idli Kadai is estimated to have collected a net total of only ₹0.41 crore in India.
This small daily earning brings the film’s total worldwide collection to a gross of ₹70.7 crore, marking a continued disappointment against its massive production budget.
Note: The figures you see on BoxOfficeWala come directly from live occupancy rates, trade contacts, distributors, and ticketing portals. We put in the hours to keep this data tight. Just know our numbers won’t always match the official PR posters. Studios often inflate their collections, and our job is to cut through that noise. You can check our Methodology Page to see exactly how we verify everything. Treat these figures as a solid analytical guide rather than a certified financial audit, because nobody can guarantee ticket sales down to the last rupee.

Idli Kadai Overseas Markets
The overseas market has contributed ₹12.15 crore to the overall total. While this is a respectable figure, it is not enough to offset the underperformance in the domestic circuit or substantially reduce the gap with the high budget. Worldwide collections are always reported as ‘gross’ figures.

Audience and Critical Reception
Idli Kadai is a rural drama that reportedly explores themes of family, roots, and identity, centred around a traditional idli shop.
Sources Say…
Industry sources indicate that the film’s high budget was largely allocated to high production value and actor-director remuneration. “The film needed a collection closer to ₹150 crore worldwide to be deemed a safe venture for all stakeholders,” said a trade analyst on condition of anonymity. “The current trajectory suggests that it will struggle to cross the ₹75 crore worldwide mark, which will result in significant losses for the distributors.”
What’s Next
The film is now in its third week. New releases and the shift of audience focus will make a box office recovery highly unlikely. The industry will closely watch the film’s upcoming digital and satellite rights sales.
