Mirai Blockbuster Opening
“Mirai” had a massive opening day. It collected a huge Rs. 13 crore on its first day across all languages. This was a fantastic start for the movie, especially after the huge success of Teja Sajja’s previous film, “HanuMan.”
In fact, “Mirai” has surpassed the opening day collection of “HanuMan,” which was about Rs. 8 crore. This shows the rising popularity of Teja Sajja and the excitement for his new movie.
The film saw high occupancy rates, especially in the Telugu-speaking regions. Hyderabad and Vizag-Visakhapatnam had very high numbers of shows and great attendance.

Mirai Weekend Performance
As is common with most films, the collection on the second day saw a drop from the opening day’s high. “Mirai” collected about Rs. 12 crore on Saturday.
The first day is usually driven by very excited fans who want to see the movie as soon as possible. The second day often shows a more stable picture of how the film is doing. The drop for “Mirai” was not surprising. However, the film is expected to pick up again on Sunday, which is the last day of the first weekend. A strong Sunday will be key to the film’s overall box office success.
What Makes “Mirai” a Hit?
- Mirai is being praised for its amazing visuals and action sequences.
The story is a mix of Indian mythology and modern superhero storytelling. It is about a young man named Vedha who has to protect nine sacred scriptures.
These scriptures were created by Emperor Ashoka after the Kalinga war and can turn a person into a god. The story is a big draw for the audience. The special effects and CGI in the movie are also being talked about. Many have said that the VFX is on par with some of the bigger international films.
Teja Sajja’s performance has also been highly appreciated. People have said that he looks confident and carries the film on his shoulders.
Mirai Competing Hollywood horror movies at the Box Office
“Mirai” has been released in multiple languages, including Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam. This makes it a big pan-Indian film.
It is competing with other major releases like the Japanese anime film “Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle.” While “Demon Slayer” had a slightly higher first-day collection in India, “Mirai” is holding its own. The film is also facing competition from the Hollywood horror movie “The Conjuring: Last Rites” and the Tamil film “Madharasi.”
However, its strong performance in the Telugu market is a huge advantage. The film’s Hindi version is being presented by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions, which will help it get a wider release in the northern parts of India.
The film has a strong chance to do very well in the coming days. The first weekend is crucial for any film’s box office run. With a good Saturday, the film is now set up for a solid Sunday. If it continues to have a good run on weekdays, it can become a huge hit.
The word-of-mouth for the film has been mostly positive, which will help to attract more people to the cinemas.
