Karate Kid: Legends OTT
From today, Saturday, 30 August 2025, you can watch the movie on Netflix. This film brings together two of the biggest names from the “Karate Kid” universe: Jackie Chan and Ralph Macchio. Their team-up has been a big reason for the excitement around the movie.
The new movie is a special kind of sequel. It connects the 1984 original “Karate Kid” starring Ralph Macchio and the 2010 reboot with Jackie Chan. This time, a new young actor, Ben Wang, takes the lead role. He plays a kung fu prodigy named Li Fong. Li is trained by none other than Mr. Han, played by Jackie Chan.
The story starts in Beijing, where Li is a skilled fighter. But his mother, Dr. Fong (played by Ming-Na Wen), moves him to New York City. She is worried about her son getting hurt, so she makes him promise to stop fighting. This is because something sad happened to Li’s older brother in a fight.
In New York, Li has a tough time. He makes a new friend, Mia (Sadie Stanley), but her ex-boyfriend, a local karate champion named Conor (Aramis Knight), starts to bully him. Li is forced to use his fighting skills to protect himself and his friends. This leads him to a big problem.
To help his young student, Mr. Han comes to New York. He knows that Li’s kung fu alone may not be enough.
He seeks the help of the legendary Daniel LaRusso (played by Ralph Macchio). Mr. Han and Daniel LaRusso decide to train Bruce Lee. They teach him different martial arts: Kung Fu and Miyagi Karate. The film shows how these new styles help Bruce Lee prepare for a big karate competition. The final fight with the villain Connor is the climax of the film.
