Dhurandhar 2 Collection Day 1: 200 Crore Global Storm Hits the Box Office!
Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge First Day Advance Booking Gross Report India Collection and Worldwide Ticket Sales March 2026
A massive storm hits the Indian box office as Dhurandhar 2 pre-sales cross 200 Crores globally. Is Ranveer Singh about to break all-time records today?
Today is Thursday, March 19, 2026, and if you are anywhere near a cinema hall in Mumbai or Delhi, you can feel the ground shaking. The storm we were all waiting for has finally arrived. Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge is not just a movie release anymore; it is a full-blown national event.
Early trade estimates and BoxOfficeWala tracking show that the film has already gathered a massive 200+ Cr in total pre-sales for the opening weekend worldwide.
In India, the Day 1 advance booking has crossed 40.30 Cr gross with block seats, while the paid previews on Wednesday alone raked in a mind-boggling 47.90 Cr. With over 9.50 lakh tickets sold for the first day across 17,000+ shows, we are looking at one of the biggest opening days in the history of Indian cinema.
The Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh Magic
When Aditya Dhar announced a sequel to his 2025 blockbuster, many sceptics wondered if he could recreate that same gritty, high-stakes atmosphere.

After all, the first part ended on such a high note that matching it seemed impossible. But look at the numbers now. The sequel has effectively doubled the hype. Ranveer Singh returning as Jaskirat Singh Rangi, better known as Hamza, has sent his fan base into a literal frenzy. There is a silent war going on in the trade circles about whether this film can surpass the Day 1 numbers of legends like Pushpa 2 or Jawan.
While the first film opened at around 33 Cr, the sequel’s preview numbers alone have crushed that record, proving that the audience’s hunger for this story is insatiable.
The industry is currently divided. One side believes the massive 3-hour and 49-minute runtime might be a hurdle for the general audience.
On the other hand, the hardcore fans are calling it a “masterpiece” that needs every single minute to tell its story. The tension is real because a film this long limits the number of shows per screen.
Yet, exhibitors are running shows round-the-clock, with some starting as early as 2 AM in hubs like Mumbai and Ahmedabad. This kind of madness for a mid-week release is rare and shows exactly why Ranveer Singh is currently in his “beast mode”.
The current mood in the market is one of pure adrenaline mixed with a bit of caution.
Everyone is asking the same question: Is the audience really ready for a 4-hour sitting, or is this just “sequel fever” driving the initial numbers?
We have seen many big sequels falter after the first weekend if the content does not hold up. The high ticket prices, often crossing 400 INR in premium formats, suggest that the producers are aiming for a massive recovery right at the start. But does this pricing risk alienate the common man who just wants a simple movie night? It is a bold gamble by the distributors, and the next few hours will tell us if it pays off or backfires.

Dhurandhar 2 The Revenge Territory-Wise Breakdown and Regional Dominance
Looking at the territory-wise reports from BoxOfficeWala tracking, Maharashtra is leading the charge with a massive 13.2 Cr gross (14.72 Cr with block seats). The occupancy in Mumbai and Pune is hovering around 33% to 40% even before the main shows have started.
Karnataka is not far behind, showing a staggering 8.05 Cr gross. What is even more surprising is the 40% occupancy in Karnataka, which is significantly higher than in many other territories. In Bengaluru, the IMAX 2D version is performing like a dream with 81% occupancy, which is unheard of for a Thursday morning.
Delhi-NCR remains a stronghold with 7.61 Cr gross and 29% occupancy. The Hindi version is obviously the biggest contributor, but the Telugu and Tamil versions are showing decent numbers in their respective pockets.
For instance, the Telugu 2D version has already sold over 1.20 lakh tickets. However, it was not all smooth sailing. Reports suggest that some dubbed shows in the South faced technical glitches or delays, which might have slightly affected the final advance numbers. Despite these hiccups, the sheer volume of 17,000 shows nationwide is keeping the momentum high.
Dhurandhar 2: The Revenge
Format and Language Sales Report
- Hindi 2D: This is the primary driver, selling 4.79 lakh tickets with a gross of roughly 4.79 Cr (without block seats) just from advance sales.
- Hindi IMAX 2D: The premium format is a huge hit, recording a 77% occupancy with only 98 shows.
- Telugu 2D: A solid performance with 1.20 lakh tickets sold across 1,115 shows.
- Tamil 2D: Decent traction with 66,914 tickets sold so far.
- Kannada 2D: Interestingly, this version has a high ticket sold count relative to shows, with 17,675 tickets for just 75 shows.
The state-wise data further proves the pan-India appeal. Even smaller states like Odisha (92.92 Lac) and West Bengal (1.95 Cr) are contributing significantly to the total tally. The overseas market is also on fire with 80+ Cr in pre-sales for the weekend, particularly strong in North America, where it is being hailed as the biggest opener for a Hindi film in history.
What Lies Ahead for Dhurandhar 2
As we move into the evening shows, the spot bookings will decide if this film hits the 100 Cr mark on its first official day in India. The current trend suggests a very strong hold. The positive word-of-mouth from the paid previews has already created a “fear of missing out” among those who were waiting for reviews. With major stars like Sanjay Dutt, Arjun Rampal, and R. Madhavan adding weight to the cast, the film appeals to a very broad demographic.
The ending of this box office story is still being written, but the foundation is rock solid. We are looking at a potential weekend that could cross 500 Cr worldwide if the momentum continues. The real test will be the Friday morning shows. If the occupancy does not drop, then Aditya Dhar has another massive blockbuster on his hands.
For now, the trade is simply watching in awe as the records tumble one by one.
In my view, this is fantastic news for the industry. It proves that the “big screen experience” is alive and well in 2026.
However, as an analyst, I am slightly concerned about the nearly 4-hour runtime.
While it works for the opening day because of the hype, it might affect the repeat value and the number of families willing to sit through such a long duration.
It is a masterpiece in terms of scale, but will it be “exhausting” for the average viewer? Only time will tell.

Will the 3-hour and 49-minute runtime prevent you from watching Dhurandhar 2 in theatres, or are you ready for the long haul?
