It’s Happening! Prabhas’ Salaar 2 to Begin Production Soon as Producer Promises an Absolute Action Behemoth
Salaar Part 2 Shouryaanga Parvam Shoot Update: Producer Vijay Kiragandur Confirms Production Start in Hyderabad
Hyderabad is the epicenter of a cinematic earthquake today, Tuesday, March 3, 2026, as the walls of Khansaar are finally ready to rise again. In a massive revelation that dropped late yesterday, March 2, Hombale Films founder Vijay Kiragandur confirmed that the production for Salaar 2 is gearing up to hit the floors very shortly.
While the internet was busy debating whether the project was shelved or delayed due to the massive line-up of lead star Prabhas, the producer has stepped in to clear the air once and for all. This second chapter, titled Salaar Part 2: Shouryaanga Parvam, is no longer just a script on a desk but a project entering active mobilization in the heart of the Telugu film industry.
This news effectively settles the intense fan wars between the Rebel Star army and the rest of the industry regarding the “fate” of Khansaar.
For months, rumors suggested that director Prashanth Neel was too occupied with his Jr NTR collaboration to look back at Salaar.
However, the confirmation of a “behemoth” sequel proves that Hombale Films is betting the house on this franchise to lead their global expansion strategy. The industry is buzzing with curiosity because a “shortly” start date implies a logistical miracle, given that Prabhas is currently juggling Fauzi and preparing for Spirit.
This is a calculated power move to maintain the Prabhas momentum before Spirit takes over the narrative.
Everyone thought the sequel was a 2027 dream, but the producer is pushing for a reality that hits much sooner to capitalize on the massive OTT numbers the first part generated. Is it even possible to film an “absolute behemoth” while the lead actor is busy with two other pan-India projects?
The direct question we should all be asking is whether this “very soon” start is a strategic response to the massive competition heating up in the 2026-2027 release window.

The evidence is clear in the words of the man holding the checkbook.
According to ETV Bharat, producer Vijay Kiragandur stated that the team is “thrilled to share that we will be diving into production on it very soon”. He further described the sequel as an “absolute behemoth,” emphasizing that the foundation laid by Part 1 – Ceasefire was just the beginning. The numbers back up this confidence; the first installment grossed over 617 crore rupees globally and remains a titan on streaming platforms. Furthermore, Hombale Films has reportedly locked a three-film deal with Prabhas, with Salaar 2 serving as the flagship project of this partnership.
As per Variety India, the vision for this sequel extends far beyond the Indian borders. The production house is looking at overseas distribution in markets like Latin America, following the surprising success of Kantara in those regions.
While director Prashanth Neel is known to be his own toughest critic, the producer insists that the massive fan demand has made the sequel’s development an urgent priority. The stage is now set for a transformation where Prabhas’ character, Deva, evolves into the ultimate adversary of Varadha, promising a conflict that will redefine action cinema in 2026.
As per an interview with Variety India, the makers are ready to take Khansaar to the world.
This is exactly the kind of “good news” the industry needed to kickstart the week.
While some might worry about Prabhas being over-committed, Hombale Films has a history of delivering massive scale without compromising on the “soul” of the story. If they can pull off the shoot schedules alongside Fauzi, we are looking at a historic box office run that could dwarf the first part. This is definitely a masterclass in franchise management.
