Nobody 2 Short Review: Nobody 2 is a fun summer escape. It has thrilling violence, humour, and Bob Odenkirk’s charm. If you enjoyed the first film, this one will likely entertain you too.
My Rating: 3.5/5 Stars
The most-awaited action movie of the year, Nobody 2, has finally hit the big screens. The film, which is a sequel to the surprise 2021 hit Nobody, was released last Friday on August 15, in the US. In India, fans got to see it starting today, August 22. Bob Odenkirk is back in his role as the common man with a dangerous past, Hutch Mansell. But this time, the stakes are much higher.
Nobody 2021
The first Nobody movie was a huge hit because it was different. It took a regular, tired-looking family man and showed his secret life as a lethal assassin. The action scenes were raw and intense.
The movie was a nice change from the usual superhero films. The makers of the first film, including the John Wick writer Derek Kolstad, did a great job.

Now, in Nobody 2, the director’s chair is taken by Timo Tjahjanto. He is known for his action films from Indonesia. Many people were excited to see his style in a big Hollywood movie.

The story of Nobody 2 is simple. Hutch, who is an assassin, is overworked. He has a lot of debt to a crime group. His wife, Becca (played by Connie Nielsen) is getting frustrated. Their kids also feel neglected.
To fix things, Hutch decides to take his family on a vacation. They go to a small amusement park town called Plummerville. This is a place where Hutch has good memories from his childhood. But, like always, trouble finds Hutch.
A small argument with a local bully turns into a huge mess. Soon, Hutch is fighting with the town’s corrupt sheriff (played by Colin Hanks) and a powerful crime boss named Lendina (played by Sharon Stone).

The movie’s strength is its action. The fights are brutal and over-the-top. There are scenes in an elevator and on a duck boat. The final fight is in the amusement park. Director Timo Tjahjanto brings his unique style. The violence is very graphic, and the film has an ‘R’ rating for a reason.
Bob Odenkirk is the heart of the film. He looks tired and worn out. This makes his character relatable. We see a man who just wants a normal life. But when he has to fight, he becomes a killing machine.
This contrast is what makes his performance so good. The new actors also do a good job. Sharon Stone is excellent as the new villain. She is mean and a bit crazy. Christopher Lloyd also returns as Hutch’s father, and he adds some fun to the film.

However, many critics are saying that the film is not as good as the first one. The surprise element is missing. We already know Hutch is a badass. So, there is no big reveal. The story is also very simple and a bit clichéd. The family drama part is not very strong. It feels like an excuse for the many action scenes.
Nobody Review
In my opinion, Nobody 2 is a loud and bloody film. It has great action. Bob Odenkirk is fun to watch. But it may not be a movie that you remember for a long time. It is a good popcorn film for the weekend. It’s for people who want to see an action hero who is not perfect. It is bigger than the first film, but it is not necessarily better.
