“War 2” had a powerful opening on August 14. It earned a huge Rs 52 crore on its first day. This made it the biggest Hindi film opener of the year. The movie saw a big jump on its second day, earning over Rs 57 crore.
The long Independence Day weekend helped the film a lot. It crossed the Rs 200 crore mark within its first week itself.
However, the film’s speed has slowed down in the second week. After a strong first week, the collections have dropped on weekdays. The second weekend saw some growth, but it was not as much as expected. The film’s earnings on its second Saturday and Sunday were much lower than its opening weekend.

The film has been in a big box office fight with Rajinikanth’s “Coolie.” Both movies were released on the same day. While “War 2” started very well, “Coolie” has been doing better in the last few days. “Coolie” is now leading the box office race.
Despite the drop in collections, “War 2” has set some new records. With its Day 14 earnings, it has now beaten the lifetime collection of Shah Rukh Khan’s 2013 hit, “Chennai Express.” This is a big win for the film.
The coming days will be very important for “War 2.” The film needs to hold steady during its third week to add more to its collection. The movie’s total earnings are already big, but its high budget of Rs 400 crore means it still has a long way to go to make a big profit.
