War 2 Box Office journey
The film’s journey at the box office has been a mixed one. It started with a huge bang, setting records for the biggest Bollywood opener of the year. The star power of Hrithik Roshan and Jr. NTR brought a lot of crowds in the first few days. The film did very well during the long Independence Day weekend.
However, after the long weekend, the collections began to drop. The film has been facing tough competition from “Coolie,” which was released on the same day. “Coolie” has a clear lead and is still doing much better business. The drop in “War 2” collections has been a concern for the makers and trade analysts.
“War 2” was made on a very high budget of around Rs 400 crore. To be a hit, it needs to collect a huge amount. The current numbers suggest it might fall short of expectations. While it has crossed the Rs 200 crore mark, it still has a long way to go to recover its cost and become a profitable venture.
The film’s performance in the Telugu market has been a disappointment. Despite Jr. NTR’s huge fan base, the Telugu version did not do as well as expected. The Hindi version is the main reason for the film’s collection so far.
Now, the film’s fate depends on how it performs over the upcoming weekend. It needs a big jump to stay in the box office race. The weak collections on Day 15 show that the film’s run is slowing down.
