Madharasi Box Office Journey
Madharasi started its box office journey on a very positive note. It collected a big ₹13.65 crore on its first day, a Friday. This was one of the best openings for a Sivakarthikeyan film. The collections on Saturday were ₹12.10 crore, and on Sunday, they were ₹11.40 crore.
The first weekend total was an impressive ₹37.15 crore.
However, the real test came on Monday. The film saw a major drop, collecting only ₹4.15 crore. The decline continued on Tuesday, with the film earning around ₹3.2 crore. The Day 6 collection of ₹2.4 crore shows that the film is losing its audience quickly. The film needs to pick up its pace on the second weekend to become a big hit.
Reasons for the Collection Drop
There are a few reasons for the film’s performance.
- The biggest one is the mixed word-of-mouth. While the film was praised for its action scenes and Sivakarthikeyan’s performance, many viewers felt the story was not strong enough.
- The film is also facing tough competition from other releases, like Tiger Shroff’s Baaghi 4 and the Hollywood horror film, The Conjuring: Last Rites.
Another factor is the film’s huge budget. Reports say the film was made on a big budget of around ₹180 crore. With a six-day collection of less than ₹50 crore, the film has a very long way to go to recover its cost. The high budget puts a lot of pressure on the film to perform very well at the box office.

What’s Next for Madharasi?
The coming days will be very important for Madharasi. The film needs a big boost in collections on its second weekend. If the collections do not improve, it will be very difficult for the film to become a commercial success.
The box office numbers show that the film has a strong base in Tamil Nadu, but it has not been able to attract a large audience in other parts of India. The coming weekend will decide if Madharasi can be a hit or will struggle to make a mark at the box office.
