Reasons for Mirai’s Slowdown at the Box Office
The drastic drop in collection on Day 15 to a mere Rs. 0.3 crore is mainly due to a few factors:
- Weekday Blues: The film is now in its third week, and it’s a weekday. Naturally, theatre attendance drops a lot after the weekend rush.
- New Big Releases: The biggest factor affecting Mirai is the arrival of new major films. The market saw the huge release of another big-budget, star-studded movie recently. This new film has taken away many of the cinema screens that Mirai was using. A major gangster film starring a Power Star was released on September 25, 2025, and has dominated the screens.
- Run-Time Fatigue: Most of the audience who wanted to see the film in the first two weeks have already done so. The initial craze has settled down. Now, only a limited number of people are going to see the film.
Despite the low Day 15 collection, the overall performance of Mirai has been very strong. The estimated total net collection of the film in India after 15 days is now around Rs. 85 crore.
The Telugu version continues to be the main source of income.
The Hindi dubbed version also contributed well in the first week, thanks to good distribution.
The movie has already recovered its production costs. It is a big success for the makers, People Media Factory. The director, Karthik Gattamneni, has also received praise for his vision.
Mirai Final Verdict on Box Office
While the daily collection is now small, Mirai has secured its place as a hit film. It showed amazing staying power in its second week, earning decent figures even then. The huge drop on Day 15 is expected for any film facing major new competition. It has completed a good run. The film has delivered another successful box office result for Teja Sajja after his earlier blockbuster, Hanu Man.
