Mumbai, August 24, 2025: The big fight at the box office is getting more and more exciting. Two of the biggest movies of the year, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie and the action-packed War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, have completed 10 days in theatres. Both films came out on August 14. Now, we can see a clear winner in this race.
Coolie Takes the Lead
Rajinikanth’s Coolie has shown its power. In just 10 days, the movie has made a total of around Rs 245.50 crore net in India. This is a very big number. On its second Saturday, which was day 10, the film earned about Rs 10.50 crore. This shows a strong jump in collections during the weekend.
The movie had a great start. It made Rs 65 crore on day one. Although the collections declined slightly during the week, the film remained strong. It crossed the Rs 200 crore mark very quickly. The movie’s success is largely due to Rajinikanth’s massive fan base and the director’s excellent work, Lokesh Kanagaraj. The music by Anirudh Ravichander has also been a big hit.
War 2 is Behind
On the other side, War 2 is fighting a tough battle. The film, which is part of the YRF Spy Universe, has collected about Rs 214.45 crore net in 10 days. On its 10th day, it earned around Rs 6.25 crore. While this is a good number, it is much less than what Coolie made on the same day.

War 2 also had a very big opening, making Rs 52 crore on day one. But after the first few days, the collections went down. Many experts say the film has not met the high expectations. The movie’s performance in some parts of the country, especially in the Hindi belt, has been a little slow. Even with two big stars like Hrithik and Jr NTR, the film has not been able to beat Rajinikanth’s movie.

Why is Coolie Winning?
There are a few reasons why Coolie is ahead. Rajinikanth’s movies always get a massive opening in South India, and his fan base is very strong. Even though some people gave mixed reviews for the movie, the fans have supported it fully. The movie is also doing very well overseas.
War 2, on the other hand, had a huge budget. The film needed to earn a lot to be a big hit. While it has made a lot of money, it is not earning as fast as Coolie. The film’s collections went down after the first few days, which is a concern.
What Next?
Both movies will continue to play in theatres. The next few days will be important. It will decide how much more money they can make. Right now, Coolie is in a better position. It has a good lead over War 2. The box office race is not over yet. But for now, Rajinikanth is the clear winner.
