Two of the biggest movies of the year, Superstar Rajinikanth’s Coolie and the action-packed War 2 starring Hrithik Roshan and Jr NTR, have completed 10 days in theatres. Both films came out on August 14. Now, we can see a clear winner in this race.
Coolie Takes the Lead
Rajinikanth’s Coolie has shown its power. In just 10 days, the movie has made a total of around Rs 245.50 crore net in India. This is a very big number. On its second Saturday, which was day 10, the film earned about Rs 10.50 crore. This shows a strong jump in collections during the weekend.
The movie had a great start. It made Rs 65 crore on day one. Although the collections declined slightly during the week, the film remained strong. It crossed the Rs 200 crore mark very quickly. War 2 also had a very big opening, making Rs 52 crore on day one. But after the first few days, the collections went down. Many experts say the film has not met the high expectations. Why is Coolie Winning?
There are a few reasons why Coolie is ahead. Rajinikanth’s movies always get a massive opening in South India, and his fan base is very strong. Even though some people gave mixed reviews for the movie, the fans have supported it fully. The movie is also doing very well overseas.
