October 17, 2025: Rishab Shetty’s blockbuster film, Kantara: Chapter 1, is continuing its unstoppable run at the box office. The Kannada period action movie has already become a huge success.
Now, all eyes are on its third weekend earnings. The big question is: Can this cinematic marvel cross the massive $100 million (around ₹830 crore) worldwide gross this weekend?
Kantara Chapter 1 Remarkable Collections So Far
Kantara: Chapter 1 has shown amazing performance since its release. As of the end of its 15th day, Thursday, October 16, 2025, the film has a total domestic collection of over ₹579 Crore (Gross India). This is a huge achievement. The film is now very close to the ₹600 Crore mark in India.
>> Kantara Chapter 1 Collection Day Wise
The movie’s worldwide gross collection is already very strong. According to Trade reports suggest that the film is nearing the ₹700 Crore global milestone. The producer had already placed the worldwide tally above ₹700 Crore.
The current figures mean the film has already crossed the $80 million mark globally (using an approximate conversion rate of ₹83 per $1).

Kantara Chapter 1 Weekend Expectations
The film entered its 16th day—the third Friday—on a slightly slower note.
Early estimates suggest a dip in the daily collections compared to the previous week. On Day 15 (Thursday), the film saw its India net collection fall to a single-digit number for the first time, around ₹8.87 Crore. This trend suggests the initial massive rush is now cooling down.
However, the weekend is a different story for the box office. Generally, films see a good jump in collections on the third Saturday and Sunday. With the upcoming festive season and positive word-of-mouth, Kantara: Chapter 1 is expected to pick up pace again.
Our Industry analysts predict a collection of around ₹25 Crore to ₹35 Crore (net India) over this third weekend (Day 16 to Day 18). This will help it cross the ₹600 Crore India net mark.
The $100 Million Question
The main question remains whether the film can hit the $100 million (approximately ₹830 Crore) worldwide collection this weekend.
- The film’s current worldwide gross is close to ₹700 Crore.
To reach $100 million (₹830 Crore), it needs approximately ₹130 Crore more.
While the film is doing excellent business, achieving a ₹130 Crore jump in just one weekend will be difficult. The film is showing a slowdown during the weekdays. While the weekend will give a boost, it might not be enough for this large jump.
Crossing the ₹600 Crore mark in India this weekend is almost certain. However, hitting the $100 million worldwide mark will require an extraordinary jump in both domestic and overseas earnings. The film’s overseas gross is around $11 million, which is impressive but needs a massive push.

A Historic Run Regardless
Even if Kantara: Chapter 1 doesn’t hit the $100 million mark this weekend, its performance is already historic. It is the second-highest-grossing Indian film of 2025 so far.
It has surpassed the worldwide collections of major films like Sultan and Baahubali: The Beginning. The film is a phenomenal success story for the Kannada film industry.
Rishab Shetty, as the director and lead actor, has delivered a cinematic wonder that is truly unstoppable. The film will continue to inch closer to new milestones in the coming days.
