‘Thamma’ Ending Explodes Universe: The Villain Rises, Heroes Must Unite
New Delhi, Thursday, October 23, 2025
The new Hindi film ‘Thamma’ is a big hit this Diwali. It is not just a vampire love story. It is the fifth part of the Maddock Horror Comedy Universe (MHCU). This film connects many dots. Its ending has some major twists. These twists set the stage for a huge war in future films.
Thamma Story Explained

Thamma – A Story of Love and Fangs
‘Thamma’ tells the story of Alok Goyal (Ayushmann Khurrana). He is a simple journalist. He gets lost in a jungle. There, he meets the mysterious Tadaka (Rashmika Mandanna). She saves him from bloodthirsty creatures called ‘Betaals’ (vampires).
The Betaals are not allowed to drink human blood since India’s independence. This is a rule made after seeing too much human cruelty.
Tadaka brings Alok to his home in Delhi. She struggles to live a human life. One night, after a party, some men chase them.
Alok tries to talk to them, but fails. Tadaka uses her Betaal powers to protect him. Later, Alok is killed in an accident while chasing Tadaka’s bus. To save him, Tadaka injects her powers into his blood. This turns Alok into a Betaal, too.

The Betaal vs. Betaal Fight
Alok’s transformation is a big problem. The evil Betaal king, Yakshasan (Nawazuddin Siddiqui), was locked away in a cursed cave for breaking the no-human-blood rule. There was a rule: he would be set free if a Betaal turned a human into one of their kind. Alok’s change sets him free.
Yakshasan is the old ‘Thamma’ (leader) of the Betaals. Alok and Tadaka must fight him. Alok is weaker, and Yakshasan kills him. Tadaka’s pain brings a miracle. Divine energy from their goddess revives Alok.
He gets a beating human heart, which is very rare. This power helps him defeat Yakshasan. Alok becomes the new Thamma. Yakshasan is sent back to the cursed cave.

Thamma Big Twist and Hidden Details
The fight with Yakshasan is not the end. The real twist comes right after.
1. The Return of Sarkata
The biggest shock is in the post-climax scene. Yakshasan is not safe in the cave for long. A fiery, headless entity comes and breaks his chains. This entity is Sarkata, the main villain from ‘Stree 2’.
‘Stree 2’ showed him defeated, but this film proves he is alive and stronger. Sarkata frees Yakshasan. This means Sarkata is building a huge army of villains. He is becoming the Thanos of this horror-comedy universe.

2. The Bhediya Connection
Another key connection is made. Alok and Tadaka learn they need more power to fight this new, massive evil force. The answer is surprising: Alok needs to drink the blood of a Bhediya (werewolf) to gain more strength.
The film also shows Jana (Abhishek Banerjee from Stree) seeking help. His friend Bhaskar (Varun Dhawan, the Bhediya) was hurt by Sarkata in ‘Stree 2’. Bhaskar needs Betaal’s blood to heal. He gets Alok’s blood in a fight, and his powers multiply.
The ending shows Bhediya entering the Betaal territory. This sets up a dangerous situation: the Betaal and the Bhediya now depend on each other’s blood for survival, even if they hate each other. This clash or alliance will be the core of the next film, ‘Bhediya 2’.
3. Setting up ‘Shakti Shalini’
The film also sets up the next chapter: ‘Shakti Shalini’. The Betaal lore says they came from creatures who drank Rakt Beej’s blood, but their origin links to Goddess Durga.
Since ‘Shakti Shalini’ means divine feminine energy, the new film will explore this link. It might bring a new, powerful female character into the universe to fight Sarkata’s growing dark army.
‘Thamma’ successfully makes the MHCU bigger and more exciting. It is a romantic story with a lot of spooky fun. But most importantly, it has prepared the heroes for an all-out war against the growing forces of evil.
