In a recent interview, Bajpayee called the rise of OTT a “blessing” for talented actors.
The actor, who has had a long and successful career, said that many mainstream films in India do not depend on talent. He believes they are more focused on box office numbers. He said this with a heavy heart, mentioning that talent is often not the biggest factor when casting for big-budget movies.
Manoj Bajpayee has benefited immensely from the digital world. His role as Srikant Tiwari in Amazon Prime’s “The Family Man” has earned him immense recognition and a loyal fan base.
He has also excelled in OTT projects like “Sirf Ek Banda Coffee Hai” and “Gulmohar”. These projects show that streaming platforms offer opportunities for rich, action-packed stories.
His upcoming projects are also on OTT. The trailer for his new Netflix film, Inspector Zende, was released on Monday, August 25. He plays a real-life police officer who caught the notorious criminal Charles Sobhraj.
The film is set to stream from September 5. Another much-awaited project is the third season of The Family Man, which is also in the works.
Besides his digital success, Bajpayee’s film Jugnuma is also doing well. The film, which has already won awards at international film festivals, is scheduled to hit theaters on September 12.
