Empty Theatres and Dismal Numbers: Is Dhamaal 4 an Opening Day Disaster?
Dhamaal 4 Box Office Collection Day 1 Fails to Fire Despite Booking Over 7,800 Shows Nationwide

Note
Dhamaal 4 opened its theatrical run today to a thoroughly mediocre 5.47 crore gross. You can look at the massive footprint of 7,800+ shows spread across 761 cities and assume this was meant to be a weekend takeover.
The reality is much flatter. By Friday afternoon, theatre occupancy sat at a dismal 13.0 per cent. The franchise built on loud physical comedy is currently playing to empty rooms, proving that flooding the market with screens does not automatically force people to buy tickets.
That footprint is the real story here.
Securing almost eight thousand shows requires serious distribution muscle and promises of a guaranteed crowd.
When a comedy sequel commands that kind of real estate and only fills thirteen out of every hundred seats, the math becomes a liability.
This is a massive miscalculation of audience interest. You probably expect weekend walk-ins to salvage the final total. I look at that sub-fifteen per cent turnout and see a film that will start losing its prime evening slots by Monday.
Theatre owners have bills to pay, and they do not run on nostalgia.
If the night shows fail to trigger a sudden course correction, this opening day will cement itself as a total rout. The franchise simply ran out of gas.
