Producer SR Prabhu took to his social media handle to issue a formal apology, stating that the morning shows were being cancelled due to unavoidable reasons.

Why Money is the Real Villain Here

As per the latest industry updates floating around, the unavoidable reasons mentioned by the makers are actually cold, hard cash issues.

It appears there is a massive financial hurdle involving the KDM (Key Delivery Message), which is the digital key required to play the movie in theatres. Without this key, the projectors stay dark. Reports suggest that around 10 crore in unsettled dues in Tamil Nadu became the ultimate roadblock.

When you look at the bigger picture, rumours are swirling that the production house, Dream Warrior Pictures, is dealing with a total debt of nearly 50 crore across various parties, making this a very messy situation for a big-budget release.

The real irony here is that the film had the full support of the state government. Usually, getting permission for special shows is the biggest hurdle for a Tamil film, but Karuppu already had that in its pocket.

To have the political green light but still fail because of bank balance issues is a situation nobody saw coming.
