When a film drops this hard, it means the word-of-mouth is failing. It means the “common man” who watches films on weekdays isn’t buying into the hype. If you are a producer sitting on a 100 Crore investment, seeing a 5.6 Crore Monday is like watching your ship hit an iceberg in real-time.

The 100 Crore Budget Trap: Can It Even Recover?

Let’s talk math because numbers never lie. The film’s total India Net stands at 39.71 Crore. The Indian Gross is 46.83 Crore. Now, look at that budget again. 100 Crores. To even be called a “Hit,” this film needs to do at least 120-130 Crore Net in India alone to cover its costs and distribution shares.

Currently, after four days, it hasn’t even crossed the 40 Crore mark.

If the film continues to trend at this rate, the first week might wrap up around 52-55 Crore.

After that, the second Friday will likely see another drop. We are looking at a lifetime collection that might struggle to even touch the 75 Crore mark. In plain English? That is a disaster. Unless a miracle happens and the film shows an impossible hold from Tuesday onwards, we are looking at one of the biggest underperformers of 2026.

The theatrical run is looking short. Footfalls in the mass circuits are declining rapidly. Even in the urban centres where the film was expected to hold, the occupancy rates on Monday evening were dismal.

This isn’t just about one bad day; it’s about a lack of soul in the content that fails to bring people back for a second watch or to recommend it to their friends.

I don’t like being the bearer of bad news, but I have to be honest with you. Based on the current trend and the massive 100 Crore budget, Raja Shivaji is currently heading towards a Flop status.

The Monday crash has almost sealed its fate. To even reach an “Average” status, the film needed to stay above 8 Crore on Monday. At 5.6 Crore, it has lost the battle of sustainability.

My projection for the lifetime collection is now revised to 65-72 Crore.

This will result in a significant loss for the distributors. The only thing that can save face for the makers now is if the film shows a “flat trend” (no further drops) for the rest of the week. But in today’s fast-paced market, that rarely happens once a film crashes this hard.

The audience has spoken. They want more than just grand sets and loud music. They want a story that connects. Raja Shivaji seems to have missed that mark.
