About Assi
Directed by Anubhav Sinha (Mulk, Thappad) and produced by Benaras Media Works and T-Series on a moderate budget of ₹20–25 Cr, Assi is a hard-hitting courtroom drama starring Taapsee Pannu as Advocate Raavi. The title refers to the harrowing statistic of 80 rape cases reported daily in India. Word-of-mouth is exceptionally positive among critics, who are calling it a “conscience-pricking” and “urgent watch.” However, it faces stiff competition from established blockbusters like Border 2 and the urban romance Do Deewane Seher Mein.
